The Feminist Book Box is Hachette's first subscription service, and one of its first forays into direct-to-consumer sales. Bethan Ferguson, marketing director of Quercus Books, who headed its launch, explains how it came to fruition and what she and her colleagues have learned from the process.

Bethan Ferguson is the Marketing Director at Quercus Books, where she has worked on authors ranging from Layla Saad, Chris Hadfield, Peter May and Beth O’Leary to Candice Brathwaite, Elly Griffiths and Emma Thompson. She recently headed the launch of Hachette’s first book subscription box, The Feminist Book Box.
